Another player in the interesting work from hotel scene is Hilton Orchard Hotel. The Hilton Day Stay Work from Hotel is very affordable and is just as good as the other hotels that I have reviewed. The key winning point is its price and its availability and ease of booking (and cancelling).
I have reviewed work from hotel day stay packages at Fairmount, Lyf Funan and my all time favourite at Marriott Tang Plaza. My other favourite day stay hotel is Marriott Vagabond Hotel at Jalan Besar.
The Hilton Day Stay is not really advertised widely as a package. The actual day care times are from 9am to 6pm. This means it is just a 9 hours stay which is shorter compared to the rest of the day stay packages. The start time of 9am is also a little later if you want to start your day earlier.
Getting Day Stay Rates at Hilton Day Stay Work from Hotel
Hilton Singapore does not advertise a work from hotel package, but if you select the same check-in and check-out date on their website, a Day Use rate will then appear.
For example, a day stay from 9am to 6pm at a King Deluxe Plus room will cost you $136 BEFORE taxes. After taxes etc, it is about $142.42.
You can use the Hilton Honors app to get the booking too.
Conrad was also available for selection but I am not so sure now in May 2021 due to the increased number of hotels being asked to provide SHN. Anyway, Conrad has very short work from hotel hours and is very expensive.

Availability is very good. This is in sharp contrast to the Marriott “Work In Style. Stay Connected” Work from Hotel package. In fact you can easily a day stay the night before. This makes a lot of sense as sometimes you really just need a day stay for working from a hotel due to last minute changes in your work from home plan.
Update May 2021 : Now equally important is the cancellation policy. Hilton Singapore Work from Hotel Day Stay package is still only hotel that I know that allows for last minute cancellation. You can book a day stay room and still cancel the night before. No hotels that I have stayed for day stay (Marriott, PARKROYAL at Pickering etc) allowed for that. The flexibility is amazing. I hope it stays that way.
So if you are looking for a last minute day stay room, the Hilton is your best bet.

Hilton Premium Room Day Stay
I got an upgrade to the Hilton Premium room for the work from hotel day stay.
A nice lounge chair in the room
The view of Orchard Road (to be exact, the Thai Embassy) from the room if you choose the city view.
The desk comes with a comfortable Herman Miller ergonomic chair, and was a great place for getting work done. Two universal power sockets were provided by the side of the table for your laptop and handphones. Not sure what is the point of the other two sockets though.
TV.. TV is important. The Hilton has one of the largest selection of TV programmes. But hey.. NO HBO ??!!
Amazingly, it has MIO stadium. Yes you can watch English Premier League re-runs during the day stay (or over night stay).
Coffee.. Nespresso Coffee !!
Toilets.. Toilets are important…
The Hilton is the ONLY HOTEL I can find so far that automatically provides a mouth wash… I know it is not a big deal but I love that.
Hilton Clean Stay Programme
Of course, in the Covid world today, proving that your hotel and its rooms are CLEAN is so important.
The rooms that have been cleaned will a seal on the door to show that no one has entered it since cleaning was completed. In the room, remote control has a Clean Stay cover (presumably telling you that the remote control has been cleaned and sanitised and safe to use).
There is no menu in the room. You use an online web site to order your food. You can also contact the front desk though the same web site. I found them very responsive when I asked for a shaver set.
Hilton Hotel Swimming Pool
The gym and swimming pool are on the top floor and looks very inviting among the hot sun. You do need to go to the receptionist and check your temperature first.

Car Parking Warning
The Day Stay package comes with free car parking. So that’s again, very important for the day stay working from hotel warrior. You can do it multiple times as I have done so. Just go up to the receptionist to get the complimentary car park tickets.
Two warnings.
One: The car park is very unique. There are different heights in the same car park. Some of the parking lots are really low, as low as 1.6m. The rest are about 1.7m or 1.8m etc. You have to be VERY CAREFUL that if you are driving a tall car, you are parking at the right lots. For me, my car is pretty low so it is nice to have able to find the “un-wanted” lots of 1.6m tall 🙂
But there are lots that can accommodate bigger cars. Some lots are even so large that you can open your doors really wide. So open your eyes (well…… you need to, the car park is pretty dark too).
Two. The parking charges are crazy high. For a full day parking, it is about SGD70. Yes you read that right. When I left the hotel after 1/2 day, it is already SGD35.
So please. Before you leave FOR the hotel (ie. from your home), remove that cash card from your car IU. Else don’t be shocked if you forget to take a complimentary car park ticket or even if you did, you forgot to remove your cash card.
Your $135++ day stay can become $200++ !
Conclusion
Hilton Hotel feels a little dated from main entrance and the lobby.
The rooms I got from a free upgrade were the Premium rooms and they are newly renovated in certain parts of the room (the shower room ? the tv console ? the side tables ?) But some parts are outright old and it is very obvious.
The location of Hilton Hotel is right in the hottest part of Orchard Road and a short walk from the hotel to the shopping places and eating places is a nice break from your work.
The rather short time (9am to 6pm) is a little turn off but with free parking, it is an okay deal. Not the cheapest deal but it is a good place for your work from hotel if you so need it.
